Where Are My Damn Socks?
Laundry day is a ritual of order—sorting, folding, restoring balance—yet, without fail, socks disappear. Where Are My Damn Socks? gives form to the unseen culprit: a mischievous sock monster lurking in the shadows of my routine, snatching socks with impish delight.
Created for 3.0 Kinds of Funny, a continuation of 2.0 Kinds of Funny, this piece embodies the absurdity of life’s minor frustrations. The sculpture leans into humor and exaggeration, transforming a mundane mystery into a playful confrontation with the chaos of the everyday. Through expressive form and whimsical detail, the sock monster becomes more than just a figment of laundry-room folklore—it’s a cheeky nod to our shared acceptance of life’s small, inexplicable losses.
