Silent Suppers: Sculptural Ode to Dinners Alone

Silent Suppers: A Sculptural Ode to Dinners Alone reflects on the nostalgia and bittersweetness of childhood meals enjoyed in solitude. Centered on a foldable TV tray from my home, the sculpture features a plate of Polish noodles—a family recipe of buttered egg noodles and cottage cheese—alongside a Diet Coke bottle and a remote, symbolizing meals shared with the television rather than family. This piece invites viewers to reflect on their own evolving relationship with food and the passage of time, celebrating simple childhood joys while acknowledging the changes brought by loss and life’s demands.
