Plant

For this project, I used the reduction screen printing process to explore the intricate details of a plant. By layering colors from light to dark, I was able to create a sense of depth and texture that highlights the plant's natural form. Each stage involved gradually removing parts of the stencil, which allowed me to focus on how the different layers interact to build the final image. This project was a great way to experiment with color and process while capturing the beauty of nature.

Process

Reduction screen printing involves layering multiple colors using a single screen, with portions of the stencil gradually removed using screen filler after each layer is printed. Starting with the lightest color, each subsequent layer builds on the last, creating depth and complexity. This process requires precise planning and registration to ensure the colors align properly. The result is a dynamic, multi-layered print that evolves with each stage of the process.
